The Drinkers is a drawing by French artist Daumier, later appropriated by Van Gough, and again appropriated from Van Gough by me (PWH). While Van Gough’s work changes the color and tone of the painting, I have taken the subject matter and changed scale, style, and perspective. y take on the piece in today’s context is the industrial growth towering over the individuals who dampen their woes with drink in a field.
