2024 Theme:  This year I am working with local artists on collaborative works that include sculpture, video and conceptual pieces.  My subject matter regularly focuses on philosophical themes told through cartoonish vignettes, storybook illustrations or allegorical scenes.  Art history, particularly stemming from post renaissance artists, thoughts from continental philosophers, and the incorporation of color all fall into my work.  “Recurrence” is a major theme I draw from, where I aim to create works that showcase new mediums and processes. 

Existing works:  Beginning in 2023 my focus was “storybook” themed works.  Spanning Moby Dick, Winnie the Pooh, Turtle and the Hare, Alice in Wonderland.  These were generally worked in Graphite, Digital, Acrylic and found object.  This show is toured, usually featuring a primary story by request from venues.

POLITICS

  First off, I think everyone should vote, that way we’re all at least making a choice of the lesser of two evils (at minimum).  Second, I believe that the biggest impact you can have is the building a relationship with your neighbors, whether that means co-workers, roommates, bartender, bouncer, or actual neighbor.  The movement of capitol and cooperation between immediate physical neighbors has a intrinsic impact on the quality of life WHERE YOU LIVE.  I be34leive that Humanity is increasingly being left behind by technology and the powers that seek to gain and maintain control.  As long as we can express free-will then the answer to the question “how do we treat our neighbors, and select and consume our goods” is the most immediate impact we have on our community and ourselves.
